Unapologetically Me Women's Meetup

About the Event
Our childhood relationships are the first impressions that we have of relationships growing up. As children, we're extremely programmable and many of our core ideas and beliefs are formed during this time by the people closest to us - our parents. It’s not surprising that as adults we sometimes find ourselves engaging in behaviors and patterns similar to them - especially if we try to avoid doing so.
For instance, you might have said to yourself “I never want to be like my mom”. Then you grow up and find yourself doing the same things your mom used to do - the things you said you would never do. Or, you might have dated someone with qualities similar to your dad.
During this meetup, we'll explore the impact of our parental relationships on our self-esteem, self-image, and self-worth. We'll explore our most significant experiences and memories growing up, in order to develop an understanding of how they are still playing out in our adult lives.
As some of us might be holding onto anger or resentment towards our parents, or dealing with the loss of a parent, we'll discuss ways to heal ourselves and give ourselves we the love we need, understanding that our parents did the best they could with what they had.
If you feel you are struggling in your current relationships as a result of your childhood and/or parental relationships, join us for an insightful and empowering conversation on how to let go of the past and create healthier, happier, more fulfilling relationships!
